Kathleen Sgro DNP, MBA, RN
Dr. Sgro is a Registered Nurse with a background in medical-surgical, long term care, and oncology nursing. She is a graduate of St. John’s Hospital College of Nursing in Springfield, IL. In addition to her degree in Nursing, Dr. Sgro has received a Bachelor of Science in Health Care from St. Frances College in Joliet, IL, a Master in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Springfield, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Rush University, in Chicago, IL.
As founder of Alterna-Care, Dr. Sgro is dedicated to providing holistic care to homebound clients. She believes many patients and caregivers go without the supportive care that is available through home health services.

Nancy Enlow CPA
As a Certified Public Accountant through the State of Illinois, Nancy has had extensive experience as an accountant for one of Springfield’s top public accounting firms as well as years of experience as a controller for a private organization. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Illinois State University in Bloomington, IL.
Chief Operations Officer:
Richard Sgro SPHR
Richard is a former lobbyist with the State of Illinois. He also worked on the State of Illinois’ annual budget as a research analyst for the Illinois Department of Revenue. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Richard has implemented many new and exciting changes that have improved communication and increased efficiency.
Director of Rehabilitation:
Sue Ellen Kunz PTA
Sue Ellen has worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant for nearly 20 years. During this time she has gained experience in a variety of settings, including hospital, skilled nursing facility, and home health. She is also a Certified Back Specialist and certified in the McKenzie Method. Sue Ellen recently fulfilled a lifelong goal of hers, to participate in a medical mission trip. She went to Guatemala where she provided physical therapy to residents of remote villages, and soon plans to return.
Home Healthcare Representative:
Cathy Boerke
Cathy has years of sales and marketing experience mainly in the real estate industry. She also has experience in business development, web-based marketing, and event planning. Cathy has also remained very involved in her community, supporting domestic violence prevention efforts, the Make-a-Wish foundation, and the Springfield Parks Foundation to name a few. Cathy plans to continue her community work with the Illinois Innocence Project.
